Most of the courses are free of charge and they are organised for Familia Club members. In order to participate you need to be a member of Familia Club. Membership fee is 15 euros/calendar year. Become a member
Courses for senior citizens and stay-at-home mothers
The courses progress at a leisurely pace and focus on everyday situations and conversation, and they are especially targeted for senior citizens and stay-at-home mothers. Immigrants who are not working can also participate if there are free places on the course. Courses are organized in association with KSL and ViSiO.
Getting familiar with letters and numbers course A
Monday and Wednesday 10.00–11.30 (6.9.-15.12.)
The course helps you to learn to read and write in the Latin alphabet system. At the same time you learn basic Finnish. Child care is not available during the course. Register at the Familia Club office 31.9.-2.9. It is good to have a Finnish or English speaking person with you when registering. If there are free places on the course, it is also possible to join later. Teacher Eva Lee.

Course for beginners, no previous studies in Finnish language required, but you need to know how to read and write in Latin alphabet. Child care is available during the course. The course is suitable for persons who have studied Finnish about 50 hours and know the very basics. Child care is available during the course. Register at the Familia Club office 31.8.-2.9. Teacher Eva Lee.
Finnish for more advanced

The course is suitable for persons who know the basics of the Finnish grammar and vocabulary. Child care is available during the course. Register at the Familia Club office 31.9.-2.9. Teacher Eva Lee.
Continuation course

The course focuses on conversation, and basic knowledge of Finnish language is required. Child care is available during the course. Register at the Familia Club office 31.8.-2.10. Teacher Eeva Saarinen.

Finnish conversation groups
Tuesday and Thursday 18.00–19.30 (2.9.-14.2.)
Saturday 14.00–16.00 (from 11.9.)
The groups do not require registration and they are open to everyone who knows the basics of Finnish language. It is possible to join at any time. The groups on Tuesday and Thursday are organized together with the Red Cross Papupata group. More information papupata-kerho@netti.fi.
News Club

What is going on in Finland and around the world? Come and listen the latest news in easy Finnish and have a nice time together. Coffee and tea available. You can attend every week or come when you have time.
Let´s speak Finnish conversation group
Friday 10.00–11.30 (starts 10.9.)
The group consists of maximum of five people who know the basics of the Finnish language and who are expected to participate as actively and regulary. The group discusses topics that are of interest to the participants. Directed by Kaarina Koivuniemi and Sirpa Pohjalainen.
Tandem training
Information meeting Thursday 30.9., 18.00
Practice every day Finnish or some other language with a conversation partner who speaks the language as their mother tongue. In the tandem training the practice is carried out in pairs so that both languages are spoken in turn. You need to have at least a basic command of the tandem language. The discussion topics, meeting places and times are arranged by you. The training is organized in co-operation with Kalliolan opisto. The languages, in addition to Finnish, are Czech, French, Hebrew, Japanese, Russian and Swahili. The group meets once a month (first meeting 1.10.). Finnish for unemployed immigrants (The course is full)
This course consists of four hours of teaching per day, Monday-Friday, 9.00-12.15, 30.8.-20.12. The course is organized in association with Amiedu and the city of Helsinki.
