
Familia Club


Multicultural association Familia Club ry is a religiously and politically
independent NGO, founded in 1988. It brings together Finnish people interested
in multicultural issues and immigrants with different language and cultural
backgrounds. The aim is to promote equality and non-discrimination in the
Finnish society, and also to prevent racism and alienation.
Familia Club is one of the pioneers in the field of multicultural activities
in Finland. The association promotes immigrants´ integration in the Finnish
society and helps them in the fulfillment of their rights. One of the aims
is also to encourage the immigrants to maintain their own languages and
cultures.
The work is supported by Raha-automaattiyhdistys RAY and City of Helsinki.
Familia Club is member of the Union of Friendship Associations in Finland
and the Service Centre for Development Cooperation.
The work is supervised by the board elected in the general meeting of the
association, consisting of the president and 5-7 members.
