Love and parenthood in an intercultural family

Duo Project's guide booklet "Love and Parenthood in an Intercultural Family" is intended for all intercultural families that are planning to have a child, expecting a baby or that already have small children. Professionals (such as nurses, kindergarten teachers and school teachers) can also benefit from the booklet.

The booklet contains basic information about a couple’s relationship,
parenthood, child’s identity and bilingualism. It:

gives information about the different stages of a relationship
from falling in love to love;
describes life between cultures;
describes how to create a third culture;
gives information about the effects a child’s birth and parenthood have on the parents’ life and relationship;
provides tips on how to support an intercultural child’s identity
and bilingualism.

The booklet also contains extracts from the stories of parents
and grown-up children of intercultural families. The questions at the end of each section can be contemplated alone or as a couple whenever there is time for it.

The booklet is available in English, Finnish,
French, Russian and Thai.

You can order the "Love and Parenthood" booklets by sending us an email to duo(at)familiaclub.fi. Please include the following information in your email:

your name or the name of the person/organisation who pays the bill,
your phone number,
language version(s) that you want to order (English, Finnish, French, Russian and/or Thai)
number of copies ordered
delivery address.

The cost of one booklet is 5 euros (cost price including postage in Finland). We will send you the payment details in a reply message and deliver your booklet(s) as soon as your payment has cleared.
